Nigerian striker Terem Moffi is determined to help the Super Eagles secure victory against Portugal in their international friendly match today (Wednesday, June 8) at Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria. This marks the second meeting between both countries, with Portugal claiming a 4-0 victory in their previous friendly four years ago.

The 26-year-old Moffi, who scored twice in his last two matches for Nigeria, brings valuable Portuguese league experience to the team. Having spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan with FC Porto where he won the championship, Moffi claims to understand how the Portuguese national team plays. "I'll try my best to lead the team as much as I can. I know a little about how the Portuguese national team play and how their players play," Moffi told TVC News.

The Super Eagles will be looking to avenge their previous defeat against Portugal as both teams use this friendly as preparation for upcoming competitions. Portugal coach Martinez has already shared team news ahead of the clash.

Will Nigeria's familiarity with Portuguese football through Moffi be enough to secure their first win against Portugal, or will the European side continue their dominance?
