Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei appointed as Iran's third supreme leader following Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's death from US-Israeli airstrikes. Born 1969 in Mashhad, he's a Shia cleric and IRGC veteran who studied under his father. Served in Iran-Iraq War closing phase (1987-88), later taught theology in Qom. Known hardline figure involved in 2009 protest suppression; sanctioned by US in 2019. Analysts see him as more aggressive on nuclear weapons than his father. Married Zahra Haddad-Adel (2004-2026), three children.
