Florentino Perez secures eighth term as Real Madrid president and immediately confirms Jose Mourinho as next manager, ending weeks of speculation. The Portuguese manager, who currently leads Benfica, has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal to return to the Spanish capital this summer.

Mourinho's appointment replaces Alvaro Arbeloa, who took charge in January after Xabi Alonso's departure. The "Special One" previously managed Real Madrid from 2010-2013, winning La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de España trophies during his first tenure.

Real Madrid seeks to end recent trophy drought, with their last major title being the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup. Nigerian football analyst Femi Fabunmi believes Mourinho is the right choice to restore the club's winning standard, while Dawaki Rangers coach Audu Ojo warns he may need to address squad issues, particularly regarding star players like Mbappe and Vinicius.

As European transfer season approaches, all eyes on whether Mourinho can deliver the silverware Madrid expects this time around.
