MURIC accuses FG of religious bias in N25 billion airport project
MURIC accuses FG of religious bias in N25 billion airport chapel project today. The Muslim Rights Concern alleged the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport ecumenical chapel project, reportedly undertaken with Christian Association of Nigeria, shows favoritism toward Christian religious infrastructure.
The group also criticized uneven relief distribution, citing N2 billion allocated to Plateau State violence victims without similar interventions in other affected states including Borno, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi and Kwara. MURIC questioned why 19 northern states shared only N1.2 billion for Eid al-Kabir while Plateau received N2 billion alone.
MURIC demanded the federal government provide Muslim religious infrastructure of equal size, including land allocation and the N25 billion they claim is 'cooling off somewhere in the Central Bank.' With no official response yet, the government faces pressure to address these religious inclusion concerns before tensions escalate further.
Will the FG address these religious parity concerns transparently, or does this reflect deeper systemic imbalances in Nigeria's religious infrastructure planning?
