MURIC: Iran War Should Not Cause Nigeria PMS Price Hike
Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has stated that Nigeria's Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) price increase is not linked to the Iran conflict. The price has risen to N1,400 per litre in some areas, but MURIC's Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, argues local refineries lack sufficient crude supply despite Nigeria's excess reserves. He appealed to President Tinubu to ensure refineries receive adequate crude to reduce prices. MURIC's findings reveal refineries are rationed crude, contradicting claims that Iran's war affects supply. The appeal comes as fuel prices hit record highs, impacting Nigerians' daily lives.
