NAF conducted precision airstrikes on June 18-19, 2026 targeting terrorist strongholds in North West Nigeria's Joint Operations Area and around Kidandan. The strikes, based on credible intelligence, successfully neutralized terrorists after positively identifying their movement in the Kidandan area. Follow-up reconnaissance over Fatika and Sabuwa confirmed absence of further terrorist activity.

These operations, part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1, degraded terrorist operational capability and denied criminal elements freedom of action in the region. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame emphasized the NAF's unwavering resolve to reinforce security across the theatre through sustained air operations supporting joint missions with ground forces.

Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of Air Staff, stressed that decisive air power delivers greatest effect when integrated with surface operations. The NAF will continue intelligence-driven air power in close synergy with ground forces to neutralize terrorists, protect lives and restore lasting peace across North West Nigeria.

For residents in affected areas, these strikes indicate ongoing security efforts against terrorist threats. What specific measures should communities take to support these operations while ensuring their safety during military activities?
