NAFDAC issued a public alert about falsified Dostinex 0.5mg tablets circulating in Nigeria, even though the legitimately registered product hasn't been imported yet. Pfizer Nigeria confirmed these are unregistered and parallel-imported versions posing serious health risks. Key details: Batch numbers GG3470, LG8659, GG2440; expiry dates June 2027, January 2026, April 2026; no NAFDAC registration. Healthcare providers, patients, and the public must source medicines only from authorized suppliers and report suspected products to NAFDAC. This follows NAFDAC's history of combating counterfeit medicines, including SMA Gold infant formula and N1.2 billion worth of fake malaria drugs seized in Lagos.
