NAPTIP to investigate Simi over child abuse allegations
Singer Simisola Kosoko faces renewed child sexual abuse allegations after old social media posts resurfaced, prompting NAPTIP to announce a formal investigation. The 37-year-old artist, known for hits like "Duduke" and "Joromi", is accused of sexualizing toddlers in her mother's daycare centre based on 2012 tweets referencing a four-year-old child's "loc lip" behavior and attempts to "put hand inside my shet". Simi claims the posts were made at age 23 while assisting at the daycare and were misinterpreted. Her admission has intensified calls for authorities to act. NAPTIP stated on Instagram it will investigate all credible reports of child sexual abuse in daycare settings, urging anyone with evidence or affected individuals to contact them confidentially via DM or email. The agency emphasized taking all reports seriously. Simi's team has begun removing older posts amid the controversy.
