NCDMB is installing a 2.5-megawatt Compressed Natural Gas power plant at the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park, a key step toward making the facility operational for industrial activities. The power plant will provide reliable and sustainable electricity to support manufacturing operations within the park.

This development comes after an assessment visit last Friday by NCDMB leadership, including General Manager Corporate Communications Obinna Ezeobi and Manager Strategy and Transformation Projects Olubisi Okunola, who confirmed significant progress across infrastructure. Completed facilities include manufacturing shop floors, a fully functional water treatment plant, well-equipped accommodation, modern classrooms, an amphitheater, and residential apartments for trainers and guests.

Beyond the CNG plant, NCDMB has finished switchgear building, transformers, and heavy-duty generators, awarded contracts for sand-filling ponds to build six manufacturing sheds, and continues environmental maintenance through landscaping and routine upkeep. When fully operational, the park aims to create over 2000 jobs, deepen Nigerian Content by enabling local manufacturing of oil and gas components, reduce import dependence, and strengthen indigenous participation across the oil and gas value chain.

For Nigerians seeking opportunities in the oil and gas sector, this progress signals advancing prospects for employment, local content development, and industrial growth as the park moves toward full operation.
