NCoS warns public against fraudsters impersonating service

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has issued a public warning against criminals using its name and logo to commit fraud. Scammers are distributing a document titled 'Payment/Mobilisation Request Form' and falsely claiming it relates to contract awards, soliciting payments from victims. The NCoS unequivocally states this document did not originate from them and operates strictly according to federal regulations. They emphasize they never request upfront payments, mobilisation fees, or financial inducements. Fraudsters have also impersonated senior officials on social media to issue fake contract offers and direct victims to private bank accounts. The NCoS urges individuals to report suspected fraudulent activities to law enforcement agencies including the EFCC and Nigeria Police Force.
