NCS offers 3,852 jobs from 573,680 applications, highlights tough competition
NCS has offered employment to 3,852 candidates out of 573,680 applicants in its nationwide recruitment, a success rate of about 0.7%. The breakdown shows 1,275 hired for Superintendent Cadre (1 in 217), 367 for Inspectorate Cadre (1 in 350 - the most competitive), and 2,210 for Customs Assistant Cadre (1 in 76 - the best odds). The Federal Government had approved 3,927 slots, leaving 75 positions unexplained.
The recruitment began on December 27, 2024, with a computer-based test held September 14-21, 2025. After the CBT, the portal reopened in April 2026 for final screening, closing May 10, 2026. Successful candidates must verify their status on the official portal, upload a government-recognised medical certificate, update their state of residence and accept the provisional offer before the deadline to receive a Trainee Identification Number; further documentation and physical screening will follow.
With such steep odds, especially for the Inspectorate cadre, job seekers should weigh the effort against alternative opportunities. Will you invest time in another Customs attempt, or explore sectors with higher absorption rates?
