NDC party will prevent aspirants from riding on Peter Obi-Rabiu Kwankwaso's popularity to power in 2027 elections, according to party spokesman Osa Director. Unlike in 2023 when many unknown candidates joined opposition parties and later defected to APC, NDC says they'll thoroughly screen aspirants' pedigree and commitment to party principles.

The director revealed that during their screening process, they noticed many people from the diaspora who had never participated in politics rushed to get NDC forms, likely hoping to capitalize on the party's growing reputation as a vibrant alternative to current governance. "If you are not on the ground, who is going to vote for you," the director questioned.

NDC officials claim they've learned from the 2023 experience where several aspirants won elections under LP and NNPP platforms only to later defect to the ruling APC. The party says they will now ensure only committed candidates fly their flag in 2027.

Should voters prioritize candidates' party loyalty over their individual qualifications when choosing representatives in 2027?
