NDC Leader Dickson Orders All Donations Go to Party Account for INEC Audit
NDC National Leader Dickson announced at the party’s stakeholder meeting on June 11, 2026 that every donation to the Nigeria Democratic Congress must be paid into the party’s designated bank account, and that no party official—including himself—can spend the money. He said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should audit the account according to the law, to prevent individuals from using party funds to buy private houses and new cars. Dickson added that the party will inform the public so donors know their contributions will not be misused by the chairman, national leader or secretary.
He explained that in past parties, money raised often disappeared, and he does not want NDC to follow that path. By directing all donations to a single account subject to INEC audit, the party aims to create transparent financial systems and reassure supporters. The move comes amid broader concerns about accountability in Nigerian political party financing.
Donors should ensure they send contributions only to the NDC’s designated account, and the public can request INEC audit reports to verify usage. The policy is effective immediately, and the party encourages supporters to bear with them as these systems are put in place.
