NDC sets N60m presidential nomination form for 2027 elections
Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced N60m as total nomination fee for presidential aspirants in the 2027 general elections. Presidential candidates will pay N20m for Expression of Interest Form and N40m for Nomination Form, while governorship aspirants pay N30m total.
According to the party's timetable, Expression of Interest forms go on sale today (May 13, 2026) and close May 18. Screening follows May 19-21, with Nomination Forms sold May 21-23. Completed forms must be submitted by May 25. Primaries are scheduled for May 27-28, with presidential primary in Abuja on May 29.
Other positions: Senate (N8m), House of Representatives (N6m), State House of Assembly (N2.5m). The party claims these are among the lowest fees charged by major political parties. Women enjoy 50% fee reduction, persons with disabilities get 75% waiver across all categories.
All aspirants must sign undertakings adhering to party code of conduct. NDC promises "transparent, inclusive and democratic process" using "open secret ballot" system to ensure credibility.
With nomination fees ranging from N2.5m to N60m depending on position, aspirants need to factor these costs into their planning quickly. The tight timeline (forms close in 10 days) requires urgent decision-making for interested candidates planning to run in 2027 elections.
