NDC’s Galadima Says Only God, Tinubu Know 2027 Election Outcome
On Thursday, Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), told Channels Television’s Politics Today that only God and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu know the outcome of the 2027 presidential election. Galadima expressed doubts about the poll being free and fair, alleging that political developments ahead of the vote have given the opposition cause for concern. “If you are dealing with criminals and fraudsters like these ones we have, you can’t be sure of anything,” he said, citing alleged coordinated attacks on opposition supporters in Enugu, on Peter Obi in Benue State, and on an ADC governorship candidate in Kaduna.
Despite these concerns, Galadima expressed confidence in the Obi‑Kwankwaso ticket, stating they would win if the election were conducted freely, fairly and transparently. “Obi and Kwankwaso will win this election if it is free, fair and transparent, unless somebody decides to use the machinery of government and take it away from them,” he added. He revealed he is chairman of the coordinating strategic committee for the presidential candidate and his running mate, working to harmonise their political blueprints into a single “healing ticket” for Nigeria focused on national unity, public confidence in government and security.
Galadima also questioned reported engagements between President Tinubu and INEC, warning that academics who publicly support Tinubu should not be recruited to serve in the elections, as they have already taken sides.
