NDLEA intercepts cocaine bound for China/Italy, arrests suspects nationwide
NDLEA intercepted two cocaine consignments bound for China and Italy through a Lagos logistics company, hiding 250 grams in a mortar's false base and 500 grams in a backpack's false bottom, seized on Thursday. In simultaneous operations across six states, officers arrested suspects and seized large quantities of drugs: in Rivers State, a 38-year-old dealer in Eagle Island, Port Harcourt, was found with cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, tramadol, codeine syrup and other substances; in Anambra, a truck (XK 131 BDG) at Onitsha's DMGS roundabout carried 26,000 bottles of codeine syrup weighing 3,960 kg; in Delta, 331.84 kg of skunk was recovered from a Toyota Sienna (KUJ 26 DV) on the Kwale/Ughelli expressway; in Nasarawa, a 64-year-old in Asso Angwan Muazu, Karu, possessed 68 kg of skunk and 29 g of methamphetamine; and in Zamfara, NDLEA patrol on the Zaria-Gusau highway intercepted 7,400 tramadol 225 mg pills. These operations, part of the War Against Drug Abuse campaign, demonstrate the agency's nationwide reach and the scale of illicit drug trafficking.
