NDLEA Seizes Drugs in Water Purifiers, Arrests Suspects Across Multiple States
NDLEA operatives intercepted drug consignments hidden in water purifier machines shipped from Netherlands to Lagos on May 26, recovering 3kg of ketamine and 199g of MDMA. In separate operations across Nigeria, the agency arrested a couple in Kaduna with 1,246kg of skunk, seized military-grade ammunition on the Abuja-Kaduna Highway, recovered 457kg of skunk from a Niger State warehouse, and intercepted 22,000 tramadol pills in Enugu. All seizures occurred between May 24-28, with suspects arrested in connection with each operation. NDLEA continues its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization campaign in schools nationwide. With sophisticated smuggling methods being used, what measures should communities implement to protect youth from drug abuse while authorities continue intercepting these large shipments?
