He noted that he has officially assumed duty as the 16th substantive State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State, describing the appointment as a privilege and a call to greater responsibility. The commandant, said having served in the state command previously, “we know that Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts have security challenges in the state. “I intend to deploy many security officers from the headquarters down to the troubled spots. “I have also activated our tactical units for immediate quick response in Kaiama and Oro-Ago axis in the Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts,” he added. Reaffirming the Corps’ mandate, the new Commandant stressed that the agency remains committed to safeguarding lives and protecting critical national infrastructure across the state. According to him, his leadership will focus on strengthening operational capacity, enhancing intelligence-led policing, and intensifying efforts against vandalism, sabotage, and other forms of criminality. “Under my leadership, we will strengthen our operations, enhance intelligence gathering, and intensify efforts in safeguarding critical infrastructure and tackling all forms of criminality,” he stated. Mohammed also emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation and sustained partnership with stakeholders, particularly the media, in achieving a safer society. “We will also continue to collaborate with other security agencies and stakeholders, including the media, as security is a collective responsibility,” he added.
