NFVCB vows to prosecute producers of LGBTQ movie 'The Best Guy'
Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) Executive Director Shaib Husseini has vowed to track down and prosecute producers of the LGBTQ-themed movie 'The Best Guy' streaming on YouTube. The Board, which previously targeted producers of the 2020 lesbian-themed film 'Ije', maintains that no same-sex content can be legally distributed in Nigeria without prior classification. Husseini stated the Board will obtain producer details from YouTube and hand them to law enforcement, emphasizing that films must be submitted for classification regardless of platform. 'The Best Guy', produced by Omeleme Studios and directed by Akpos Otubuere, stars Melvin Oduah and Edson Obi in a story about a reverend's secret relationship. The NFVCB's stance reflects Nigeria's strict laws against LGBTQ content promotion.
