Nigeria Capital Imports Surge 380% to $6.01B in Q3 2025
Nigeria's capital importation surged to $6.01 billion in Q3 2025, a 380.16% increase from $1.25 billion in Q3 2024, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). This represents a 17.46% rise from Q2 2025's $5.12 billion, showing sustained investor interest. Portfolio investment drove inflows at $4.85 billion (80.70%), followed by other investments ($864.57M/14.37%) and FDI ($296.25M/4.93%). Banking sector received the largest share ($3.14B/52.25%), followed by financing ($1.86B/30.85%). Capital inflows originated mainly from the UK ($2.94B/48.80%), US ($950.47M/15.80%), and South Africa ($773.95M/12.87%). Standard Chartered Bank led with $2.12B (35.17%). This marks a strong rebound from Q1 2025's $5.6B and Q2's $5.12B, though Q3 saw a 9.24% decrease from Q2.
