Nigeria experiencing worst party organizational politics ahead of 2027 elections
Director of Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, declares Nigeria is experiencing its worst party organizational politics as primaries for 2027 general elections unfold. Amadi made this assessment during a live interview on Arise Television this Sunday, noting that while 2023 had political crises, the current confusion represents a new level of disorganization. 'In 2023 we had crisis here and there but it wasn't at this level,' he stated, explaining that previously there was clear distinction between parties like PDP and APC, unlike the current state of confusion. The analyst also highlighted the transition to direct primaries as a complicating factor, acknowledging that despite the damaged processes, at least there is now a formal procedure in place. This analysis suggests the disorganization may affect the quality of candidates and governance outcomes in Nigeria's upcoming elections.
