Nigeria faces a wave of security and economic developments. In Lagos, Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani assured residents that the Shoe Materials Market in Mushin remains safe after a suspected IED blast caused panic. In Plateau State, at least 18 farmers were killed in an overnight attack on Kawel village, Bokkos LGA. In Abuja, a Federal High Court heard that former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai admitted intercepting NSA Nuhu Ribadu's phone calls during a TV interview. Police in Oyo State said the release of schoolchildren abducted in Oriire LGA last month is imminent, while in Kwara State, OPC chieftain Bayo Fabiyi was seized alongside two associates while delivering ransom for another kidnapping. Meanwhile, troops rescued 47 women and children from Boko Haram/ISWAP in Borno’s Kangarwa village, and communal clashes in Kebbi’s Gulma town left eight dead. In Ondo, police are probing the death of Cherubim and Seraphim elder Omotayo Fajana found in a hotel room. The Federal Government ordered NMDPRA to crack down on LPG hoarding and diversion as cooking gas prices rise, and the Naira strengthened to N1,369.10 per dollar, gaining 0.09% from Friday’s close. Stay alert to security alerts, monitor LPG prices for possible price relief, and consider the Naira’s strength when planning foreign exchange transactions.
