Nigeria launches MyCityApp for urban exploration and reporting
Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy has launched MyCityApp, a smart city platform designed to help tourists and visitors explore Nigeria's cities through culture, food, history, and fun spots. The app, built for innovation and cultural preservation, works offline and allows citizens to report incidents directly to the government. MTN Nigeria, the technical partner, stated the app's success will be measured by its impact on businesses, not just downloads. The ministry aims to roll it out nationwide with 5 million registered users and 40-50 daily active users. Minister Hanatu Musa Musawa described it as transforming phones into encyclopedias that align with President Tinubu's renewed hope agenda.
