Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo guests in Netflix’s A Different World sequel
Veteran Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) appears as Mr Chukwu in episode 7 of Netflix’s A Different World sequel, which premiered on 24 September 2026. The show returns to the fictional Hillman College, a historically Black college in the US, following a new generation of students while bringing back original cast members like Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison. RMD’s guest role marks a notable Nigerian presence in the series, joining fellow Nigerian cast member Chibuikem Uche, who plays Kojo Achebe, a Ghanaian‑Nigerian fashion entrepreneur and student at Hillman. In the episode, Kojo’s parents visit him at college, unaware he is studying fashion instead of engineering as he told them. This appearance adds to RMD’s growing international resume, which already includes projects like Namaste Wahala (2020), Revelations (2025) and the upcoming Children of Blood and Bone adaptation. For Nigerian viewers, seeing a homegrown star on a major global platform reinforces the possibility of breaking into international markets and highlights the increasing demand for diverse stories. If you want to catch the episode, it is streaming now on Netflix; you can also follow updates from Premium Times for more behind‑the‑scenes details about Nollywood’s global footprint.
