Nigerian Army warns of Boko Haram, ISWAP suicide threats for Eid-Kabir
Nigerian Army issued security alert Monday for potential Boko Haram and ISWAP suicide bombings and IED attacks targeting crowded civilian locations during Eid-Kabir celebrations Wednesday, 28 May 2026. Troops have been forward-deployed to critical areas across all sectors, with full activation of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets. Patrols have been intensified with forces working closely with Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and community vigilance groups to prevent security breaches during celebrations.
Residents advised to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary movement especially at night, conduct prayers close to homes, avoid large gatherings where possible, and report suspicious persons, movements, or unclaimed objects to security agencies. Traditional leaders and media urged to support security efforts through timely intelligence sharing.
