Similar videos from Benin City show a man forced to turn stolen electrical wires into a crown and rap, while another from Asaba depicts a suspect dancing with stolen cooking pots. A clip from the National Open University of Nigeria captures a man accused of laptop theft dancing before a jeering crowd. Critics, including Abuja‑based lawyer David Mike Agada, warn that such "jungle justice" is unlawful because suspects remain innocent until proven guilty, and warn that innocent people can be hurt. Supporters argue the public humiliation deters theft, but the trend raises serious legal and safety concerns.
