If you had split N10 million equally among Nigeria's four best‑performing trillion‑naira stocks—SWOOT—at the start of 2026, each N2.5 million slice would now be worth about N6.5 million on average, giving a total portfolio of N26.15 million. That is a capital gain of N16.15 million, or 161.5 % in less than eight months, according to Nairametrics Research using NGX share‑price data from 2 January to 13 August 2026.

The four stocks—First HoldCo (192.3 %), Airtel Africa (177.5 %), HBM Nigeria (148.3 %) and Aradel Holdings (127.9 %)—each more than doubled the NGX All‑Share Index’s year‑to‑date rise of 56.17 %. An equal N2.5 million allocation would have bought 52,192 First HoldCo shares, now worth N7.31 million; 1,101 Airtel shares worth N6.94 million; 18,587 HBM shares worth N6.21 million; and 3,731 Aradel shares worth N5.70 million. The same pattern scales down: N1 million invested equally yields N2.61 million today, and N100 000 grows to N260 522.

The analysis excludes dividends, transaction fees and taxes, and assumes whole‑share purchases only. It shows that while the percentage return is identical regardless of amount, the absolute naira profit grows in line with the capital deployed.

Would you consider concentrating a portion of your portfolio in high‑conviction stocks like these, or would you prefer broader diversification to manage risk?
