Nigerian troops killed 24 terrorists after repelling a terrorist attack on Kukareta Thursday morning. The attack commenced shortly after midnight and lasted until about 0300 hours, with troops executing a coordinated offensive-defensive action that forced the terrorists to withdraw.
According to the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI statement, troops recovered significant weapons including 18 AK-47 rifles, 3 GPMG machine guns, 2 PKT anti-aircraft guns, 3 RPG tubes, 2 mortar tubes, 4 hand grenades, and large quantities of ammunition. Two soldiers were wounded in the attack and have been stabilized, while one armoured tank sustained damage with all tyres blown out.
