Nigerians honoured at AFRIMMA Awards: Tompolo, Real Warri Pikin, DJ Tunez win
At the AFRIMMA ceremony held Saturday at Annette Strauss Square in Dallas, Texas, Nigerian businessman and Niger Delta leader Government “Tompolo” Ekpemupolo received the “Guardian of the Nation” Award for protecting critical national assets and combating crude oil theft. Comedian Anita “Real Warri Pikin” Asuoha won Best Stand-Up Comedian, while DJ Michael “DJ Tunez” Adeyinka won Best African DJ.
The awards recognise contributions to entertainment and national security, highlighting Tompolo’s work with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in fighting pipeline vandalism and promoting peace in the Niger Delta. International attention was drawn to Nigeria’s efforts to safeguard oil and gas infrastructure while supporting community development.
Other Nigerian artistes including Kcee, Timaya, Phyno, Victony, Ruger and BNXN attended and performed at the ceremony. The AFRIMMA organisers said the award reflects strong commitment to protecting Nigeria’s interests and supporting national development.
