Nigeria's headline inflation rate climbed to 15.38% in March 2026, up from 15.06% in February, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. On a month-on-month basis, inflation stood at 4.18%. Food inflation saw a significant increase to 14.31% in March from 12.12% the previous month, with monthly food inflation at 4.17%. This marks a continued upward trend in price increases affecting consumers nationwide.

This rise in inflation means Nigerians are facing higher costs for essential goods, with food prices increasing particularly sharply. The month-on-month increases suggest the inflationary pressures are accelerating rather than stabilizing. The NBS data indicates that despite government efforts, inflation remains elevated and continues to impact household budgets across the country.

With your purchasing power decreasing, how will you adjust your budget and spending habits to cope with these rising prices? Will you prioritize essential items, seek alternative income sources, or adjust your consumption patterns?
