Nigeria’s money market fund segment rose to a net asset value of ₦6.27 trillion by July 31, 2026, a 4.96% increase from June’s ₦5.97 trillion. The segment now holds 48 funds after the launch of Radix Money Market Fund and makes up 66.74% of the country’s total mutual fund assets.

Unitholders grew to 846,933, up 5.86% (46,883 more) from June, the largest monthly jump recently. Though the segment is huge, the top 10 funds manage only ₦215.82 billion—3.44% of money market assets and 2.30% of the entire mutual fund industry. YTD yields among the leaders range from 18.36% (CardinalStone) to 20.69% (DLM). An investor who put ₦5 million into DLM at the start of the year would have earned about ₦1,034,500, bringing the total to roughly ₦6,034,500.

The steady inflow shows retail and institutional investors still favor these short‑term, low‑risk instruments for liquidity and stable returns. With yields attractive in the fixed‑income space, the segment remains a key gateway into Nigeria’s capital market.

Given the current yields, would you consider allocating part of your savings to a top‑performing money market fund, or would you prefer to explore other fixed‑income options for similar returns?
