Nigeria attracted $11.1 billion in capital importation during Q2 and Q3 2025, bringing the first nine months' total to $16.7 billion. This marks a significant increase from 2024's $12.32 billion, though the data was delayed for six months. Portfolio investment dominated inflows, accounting for over 97% of total capital raised, with financial services (Banking and Financing) absorbing 70-80% of inflows. Foreign Direct Investment remained minimal at under $600 million cumulatively. The surge mirrors 2019's yield-driven inflows, which reversed during COVID-19, highlighting potential sustainability risks if policy shifts or global shocks occur.
