The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has immediately ended its contract with Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), the firm that operated Nigerian visa application centers in the United States. Effective immediately, applicants for Nigerian visas must submit their applications in person at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or at the Nigerian Consulates in New York City and Atlanta, Georgia. The NIS says the embassy and consulates have put adequate measures in place to ensure smooth submission, processing, and issuance of visas, and urges applicants to monitor official NIS and Nigerian mission channels for any further updates.

This change affects Nigerians living in the U.S. and anyone planning to travel to Nigeria who needs a visa, potentially adding travel time and costs for those who previously used the visa centers in other cities. For individuals living far from Washington, D.C., New York, or Atlanta, the shift may mean longer trips to submit documents and collect passports, affecting travel plans, business trips, or family visits.

Applicants should check the official websites or social media pages of the Nigerian Embassy in Washington and the consulates in New York and Atlanta for exact addresses, operating hours, and required documentation. Keep an eye on official NIS announcements for any changes to the arrangement, and consider scheduling appointments well in advance to avoid delays.
