NNPC Limited has categorically denied reports circulating about the sale of refinery scrap materials and equipment to individuals and private companies. In a Friday statement from its Chief Corporate Communications Officer Andy Odeh in Abuja, the company described these reports as 'misleading and false,' emphasizing that NNPC has not issued any requests for bids, tenders, or approvals for such sales.

The warning comes as the company distances itself from persons presenting themselves as NNPC representatives claiming to facilitate the sale of 'scrap metals' or refinery equipment. 'These individuals are not authorized by NNPC Limited and are attempting to mislead members of the public,' the statement clarifies.

For businesses and individuals dealing with NNPC, the company advises to disregard any such claims, exercise caution when approached by anyone making such representations, and report suspicious activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities. Any legitimate disposal of NNPC assets will only be conducted through established transparent processes publicly communicated through official channels.
