Nottingham Forest edge past Aston Villa as Braga defeat Freiburg in Europa League semis
Nottingham Forest defeated Aston Villa 1-0 in the Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday night. Chris Wood scored the decisive goal via penalty in the second half at City Ground. The return leg takes place next week at Villa Park. In the other semi-final, Braga defeated Freiburg 2-1 with goals from Demir Ege Tıknaz and Mario Dorgeles at Braga Municipal Stadium. The second leg will be held next Thursday at Europa-Park-Stadion. Both winners will advance to the Europa League final, with the winner of the Nottingham Forest-Aston Villa tie facing the winner of Braga-Freiburg.
