NSCDC deploys 57,000 officers nationwide for Easter security
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilised over 57,000 officers across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory ahead of Easter celebrations. Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi approved the deployment, which includes specialised tactical units, intelligence operatives, and elite divisions like the Special Intelligence Squad and Crack Squad. The operation targets high-traffic areas such as churches, shopping complexes, parks, and recreational centres, using both visible patrols and undercover agents to deter criminal activity.
This proactive measure aims to protect citizens and critical infrastructure during the holiday period. NSCDC is coordinating with other security agencies and urges parents to guide children against disruptive activities. The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to the nearest NSCDC post.
With massive deployments in place, individual cooperation becomes crucial. Security is a shared responsibility—will you actively report unusual activities or rely solely on the presence of officers?
