The university was established in 2002 by the Adamawa State Government. He, however, called for more manpower for the proposed departments of the college. The Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, who received the NUC panel, assured of the government’s continued support for the realisation of the university’s set goals, including the planned medical college. She said this is especially so as the health sector remains a top priority of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. “The establishment of the medical college and establishment of its teaching hospital will further expand the health delivery for the citizens,” the deputy governor noted. DAILY POST reports that the existing Specialist Hospital, Yola, is being considered for expansion and upgrading as the teaching hospital for the ADSU Medical College.
