Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Monday, Esele stressed that federation account belongs to the three tiers of government -federal, state and local governments. His remark is coming after President Bola Tinubu signed an Executive Order, EO9, to safeguard and enhance oil and gas revenues for the Federation. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5'); }); The order is said to curb wasteful spending, eliminate duplicative structures in this critical sector of the national economy, and redirect resources for the benefit of the Nigerian people. Meanwhile, PENGASSAN, has given President Tinubu conditions over the order for remittance of oil and gas revenue to the Federation Account. Airing his own opinion on the national debate, Esele said, “There is a widespread misconception about the federation account. “It is a collective revenue pool for all three tiers of government, not a fund controlled solely by the federal government. “When revenue enters the federation account, it is automatically subject to constitutional distribution across the three tiers of government, not retained exclusively by the centre.” Don't Miss NAWOJ pushes for Special Seats Bill in Adamawa You may like Executive Order: PENGASSAN gives Tinubu conditions You are directing energy on wrong battle – Prof Iledare slams PENGASSAN for rejecting Tinubu’s order PENGASSAN calls for engagement to safeguard oil sector stability Oil and Gas: How we plan to get Nigeria’s refineries running- NNPC’s Ojulari ‘Do at your peril’ – Trump threatens tariffs on nations selling oil to Cuba Nigeria’s oil output drops 5.9% to 1.599m bpd
