Outgoing JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede highlighted his tenure’s achievements, stressing that transparency reforms have curtailed under‑the‑table admissions and that more than 10 staff were prosecuted for misconduct during his term. He also referenced a 2023 technical glitch that affected the results of over 300,000 candidates, noting it as a reminder that no technology is infallible. Speaking at his farewell, Oloyede expressed confidence in his successor, Prof. Tahir Aina, saying the agency now has a dedicated workforce, stronger systems and an enduring culture of integrity. He urged stakeholders to support the incoming registrar rather than dwell on his own achievements, adding that the board’s robust institutional systems will sustain the gains made over the past decade. He delivered the remarks at JAMB’s national headquarters in Abuja, emphasizing the nationwide relevance of the reforms. The remarks underscore how institutional discipline and transparent processes can build public trust in Nigeria’s tertiary admission system, while also reminding stakeholders that technological safeguards require constant vigilance.
