Omoluorogbo Grammar School marks 50th anniversary with Oct 29-31 reunion and legacy project

Omoluorogbo Grammar School (OGSA) will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a three-day programme from October 29 to 31, 2026, bringing together alumni, teachers, parents and stakeholders from Nigeria and the diaspora. The event, announced by Daily Post on September 14, 2026, opens with an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service on October 29, followed by activities highlighting the school’s history, heritage and personalities that have shaped OGSA over the past five decades. October 30 focuses on reunion and engagement, featuring career development and mentorship sessions where accomplished alumni guide current and younger students, plus sporting activities for former students to relive school memories. The celebration culminates on October 31 with a grand finale and the official launch of the OGSA Legacy Project, a major alumni-led initiative aimed at strengthening the school’s infrastructure, academic environment and overall capacity for present and future students.

Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Implementation Committee, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, said the Golden Jubilee is both a celebration of past achievements and a call to preserve OGSA’s legacy, noting that many current structures date back to the school’s formative years after emerging from the former Messiah Modern School in 1976. He urged alumni to use the anniversary to give back, identify practical ways to improve the institution and build a stronger foundation for the next generation.
