Teams of five students from Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges can apply now via https://www.opayweb.com/innovation-challenge. The challenge is part of the expanded OPay Scholars Programme 2026, which includes a ₦1.2 billion, 10-year scholarship commitment, the National Innovation Challenge, and OPay Futures, a career and employability initiative. Through a new strategic partnership with the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme, OPay will collaborate with Google to deliver training during the webinar and bootcamp phases of the challenge. OPay’s CSR Manager, Itoro Udo, said the extension ensures more students can showcase ideas and benefit from mentorship and opportunities. 3MTT Programme Director Francis Sani added the partnership aligns with goals to build technical talent at scale and connect learning to earning. The expanded programme aims to equip young Nigerians with skills, credentials, and exposure to compete locally and globally in the digital economy. Interested students are urged to submit their applications before the new July 3 deadline.
