OPay, together with Google and the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent programme, has announced the ten teams that will move to the boot camp stage of its National Innovation Challenge. The challenge drew over 11,000 students forming 2,200 teams nationwide, and after a six‑week employability webinar that shortlisted 48 teams, the top ten emerged: Lyrclip (Miva Open University), ResearchFlow (Olabisi Onabanjo University), CampusCheck (Federal University, Oye‑Ekiti), Veripay (MOAUM, Benue State University), CoursePass (Lagos State University of Science and Technology), Teamcobuild (Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka), Verified Hands (Ahmadu Bello University), SkoolConnectNG (Yaba College of Technology), Thrifty (Ahmadu Bello University) and Team Paye (Adeleke University). These teams will work with mentors and industry professionals to refine their solutions before the final stage, competing for a total prize pool of ₦18 million. Beyond the prize, the OPay Scholars Programme offers participants a chance to join the OPay Futures pipeline, which can lead to three‑month internships with OPay and partner organisations. The initiative is designed to equip young Nigerians with practical skills, mentorship and pathways to turn ideas into impactful solutions for real‑world challenges.
