Oscars 2026: 'Sinners' breaks record with 16 nominations, ceremony set for March 15

The 97th Academy Awards nominations are out, with the film Sinners making history by earning a record-breaking 16 nods. It surpasses the previous benchmark of 14 nominations shared by classics like All About Eve, Titanic, and La La Land.

Following closely behind, One Battle After Another secured 13 nominations. Other strong contenders include Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, and Sentimental Value, each with nine nominations, and Hamnet with eight.

The ceremony will be hosted by U.S. comedian Conan O’Brien on March 15, 2026. Major nominations include Best Picture contenders: Bugonia, F1: The Movie, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, Sinners, and Train Dreams.
