Oseni credits Buhari, Emefiele—not Tinubu—for Dangote refinery success
Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni asserted Monday that former President Muhammadu Buhari and ex-CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele—not President Bola Tinubu’s administration—deserve credit for the Dangote Refinery’s success. Oseni argued the Buhari era’s naira stability under Emefiele enabled the refinery’s construction, countering NRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji’s Sunday TV claims about Tinubu’s economic wins including refinery contributions to local fuel supply.
Oseni noted the Tinubu government failed to meet crude supply commitments to Dangote Refinery, forcing the company to purchase Nigerian crude internationally and reimport it. While acknowledging Tinubu’s recorded economic gains, he emphasized unresolved impacts: 'The corporate sector shovel of over 3 trillion in forex problems... The GDP shovel of over 100 something billion... but the individual cost on lives... can they bring out that cost?'
