Four Super Eagles players, including Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, Paul Onuachu and Chidozie Awaziem, have departed the 2025 AFCON camp in Casablanca, Morocco. They left aboard a private jet shortly after Nigeria's 4-2 penalty shootout victory over Egypt in the third-place playoff, which followed a 0-0 draw in regulation time. This was Nigeria's ninth bronze medal in AFCON history.

The quartet is returning to their European clubs—Osimhen, Ndidi and Onuachu to Turkey, while Awaziem resumes his career in France. Their early exit means they will miss the awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday following the final match between Senegal and Ivory Coast.

Nigeria's tournament concluded with the bronze medal, missing out on a spot in the final. The early departure of key players underscores the tight club schedules that international tournament participants must navigate.
