Nollywood veteran Nkem Owoh, popularly called Osuofia, revealed his entry into acting was "an accident" during a recent Selah Meditate podcast episode. According to Owoh, he originally wanted to remain a scriptwriter behind the scenes, but colleagues noticed his comedy skills and pressured him to perform in front of camera.

ATV created a 7-minute program for Owoh to do stand-up comedy in the 1980s after they saw him making people laugh behind the scenes. "With much pressure, I came in front of the camera. And I saw that what I was doing people were buying it," he explained, revealing how his unplanned acting career began.

The actor candidly discussed fame's downside: "Fame took away my freedom. A lot of people want to be celebrities, they only know the benefits but not the downsides. When you become famous you can't do a lot of the things you were doing freely before." His story offers insight into how successful careers can begin unexpectedly through recognition of hidden talents rather than planned paths.
