The incident, which reportedly occurred within the school premises, has sparked outrage across social media platforms. Authorities, including the Benue State Government, Benue State Police Command, and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, have been called upon to investigate the matter and bring those responsible to justice, according to posts shared by concerned users online. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed. Videos and photos of the incident were allegedly captured by the perpetrators themselves, adding to public concern about the seriousness of the incident. The social media backlash has been immediate with users expressing concerns. “The decay in our society is so bad that it won’t be surprising that so many of these abnormalities are quite common in schools. Firstly it was those boys bullying their schoolmates & now this? All agencies involved should immediately start intelligence gathering on schools,” a user OLAJIDE said. Another user, Just Blaze, blamed parenting, saying: “These are products of bad parenting. If it were my child, I would make sure those responsible face the law.” Henry Adeyinka called for quick action: “The government authorities should move in immediately. Justice must be served.” Sokratis added, “The state government must ensure everyone involved is punished accordingly.” “All of them should be expelled and properly dealt with,” oluwabukunolami said. The incident has again brought attention to issues of student safety, discipline, and supervision in schools, with many Nigerians demanding stricter measures to protect students.
