Ozoh Awaits England Clearance for Nigeria Super Eagles
David Ozoh is seeking clearance from England Football Association to feature for Nigeria's Super Eagles, DAILY POST reports. The 20-year-old versatile midfielder, born in Spain to Nigerian parents who later relocated to England, is eligible to represent Nigeria, England, or Spain.
Ozoh has made five appearances for England at U-18 level, all in friendlies, meaning no FIFA clearance is required for him to switch international allegiance to Nigeria. Currently on season-long loan at Derby County from Crystal Palace, he has netted twice in 32 league appearances for the Rams.
The Super Eagles are preparing for the Unity Cup tournament later this month, and head coach Éric Chelle may include Ozoh in the squad. The midfielder could also be named for next month's friendlies against Poland and Portugal, offering additional options in midfield for Nigeria's upcoming fixtures.
This potential addition comes as Nigeria strengthens its squad depth for international competitions, with Ozoh's dual eligibility providing flexibility in team selection.
