Palmpay's Purple Woman Programme expands to train 100 women in 2025
Palmpay's Purple Woman initiative, launched in March 2024 to mark International Women's Day, has grown from training 50 women in 2024 to 100 women in 2025. The program focuses on equipping young women with tech skills like software engineering, UX/UI design, and digital marketing, plus mentorship from industry leaders including Interswitch's VP and Access Bank's Head of Partnerships. In 2025, 10 participants secured internships with PalmPay, creating direct employment pathways. The 2026 edition is now open for applications, aiming to further increase female representation in Nigeria's tech workforce, which currently stands at just 17% according to Women in Tech Nigeria.
