Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, founder of David’s Christian Centre and relationship coach, has launched a faith‑based matchmaking platform called "Mentor To Marry." The service offers three annual membership tiers: Regular at ₦70,000, Premium (price not disclosed), and VIP at ₦700,000. According to the pastor, the platform connects Christian singles seeking intentional, marriage‑focused relationships through mentoring, compatibility assessments and guided matchmaking.

The pricing structure has ignited heated discussion on social media. On X, @gatsegwasiPhD questioned why a platform that criticises commercialised relationships charges ₦700,000, asking who can afford such a sum. @DaraMoren1 criticised the model as further commercialising relationships, while @ndilichi1261151 wondered what the ₦700,000 could achieve in the Gen Z dating scene instead. Facebook users echoed similar concerns, describing the move as contradictory to the pastor’s earlier stance on relationship commercialisation.

In defence, some Nigerians, including former Big Brother Naija housemate Neo, argued that professional matchmaking and counselling services are not new and that individuals should be free to pay for help they find useful. Supporters note the platform includes mentorship and assessment before matching, offering more than simple introductions.

The debate highlights a tension between accessibility and perceived value in modern matchmaking. Will you consider paying for a guided, faith‑based matchmaking service, or do you believe the cost creates an unnecessary barrier to finding a life partner?
